Darren practices in the Health Care Law Section and with the firm's Health  Care Law Practice Group.

AREA OF CONCENTRATION

Darren's practice is concentrated in the area of hospital and health care practitioner issues.  He is certified in health care compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).  Darren advises on transactions related to physician leases and agreements, hospital business ventures, regulatory fraud and abuse, compliance and non-profit and governmental entities issues.  Darren provides legal guidance to corporate compliance officers in both the hospital and physician practice settings and has experience in forming hospital corporate compliance programs and drafting corporation compliance policies and procedure.  He also serves as legal counsel to Midland Memorial Hospital Premier Family Care and Permian Cardiology in Midland, Texas.

EDUCATION

Prior to attending law school, Darren spent six years as a high school English and Philosophy teacher in a school district near Houston, Texas. During law school, Darren worked in the Texas Medical Center in Houston as the director of a cancer information service, which assisted cancer patients and their families seeking cancer treatment and resources.
