Walter W. Pfluger is of counsel to the firm and is a member of the Oil and Gas Section.  He recently joined the firm after having practiced in San Angelo, Texas for over 25 years.  Walter is experienced in many areas of the law, but will focus on an oil and gas practice.

Title Examination and Transactional Work

Walter’s expertise lies in examining oil and gas titles, preparing title opinions, and drafting the many documents used by the oil and gas industry.  Documents prepared as a regular part of Walter’s practice include deeds, leases, operating agreements, farmout agreements, oil and gas leases and assignments, purchase and sale agreements, and similar documents required in order to explore for, develop and market oil and gas.

Professional Background

            Walter practiced for 25 years in San Angelo, Texas.  Beginning in 1986, Walter joined the firm of Shannon Porter & Johnson LLP.  Later he joined the firm of Smith • Rose • Finley.  During his time with both of these firms, Walter had the benefit of practicing law with many outstanding attorneys in the Concho Valley area.           

            Throughout his career Walter has handled a wide range of matters including farm and ranch real estate, oil and gas transactions, commercial litigation, wills and probate and banking law.  Prior to practicing law, he also operated a ranching business in Concho, Kimble and Edwards Counties.
