CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST CHESAPEAKE

Cotton, Bledsoe, Tighe & Dawson, P.C. (www.cottonbledsoe.com) announced today that it has filed a Class Action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, Cause No. 2-10CV-22, on behalf of persons who entered into contracts, including oil and gas leases, leasing minerals with Chesapeake Exploration, L.L.C. ("Chesapeake") after January 21, 2006, and who were not paid their full leasing bonus because Chesapeake allegedly refused to honor the contracts.

The Complaint alleges that Chesapeake entered into contracts to lease minerals in Texas and obtained oil and gas leases in Texas with members of the Class, but wrongfully refused to honor its agreed lease bonus payment obligations.

Plaintiffs seek to recover damages on behalf of these persons (Class members) who contracted with Chesapeake after January 21, 2006. The named plaintiffs are represented by Cotton, Bledsoe, Tighe & Dawson, P.C. which has extensive experience in prosecuting and defending complex litigation matters involving oil and gas contract issues and royalty litigation.
