Charlie is a founding member of the firm with 45 years experience as a litigator. He is the senior member of the Litigation Section and has enjoyed a diverse and successful trial practice throughout his career. Charlie is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western and Northern Districts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
AREAS OF CONCENTRATION
Oil and Gas Litigation
Charlie devotes a significant portion of his practice to complex oil and gas disputes, participating in state and federal court proceedings involving construction and enforcement of operating agreements, operator removal problems, areas of mutual interest, and working interest owner disagreements.
Employment Litigation
In recent years, Charlie has been increasingly involved in client counseling for local school districts and private employers as well as in employment discrimination litigation.
Professional Liability
Charlie has successfully defended many professionals such as attorneys and physicians from claims of professional malpractice.
Commercial Litigation
A wide variety of business entities and banks, including Fortune 500 companies, have called upon Charlie over the years to handle complex commercial litigation including such esoteric areas as antitrust and patent law disputes.
ADR
Charlie is a certified mediator specializing in handling mediations in complex commercial and oil and gas cases.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
Charlie is a former Midland City Councilman and has served as an advisor to many civic and charitable groups including the Permian Basin Girl Scout Council, Hospice of Midland, the Petroleum Club of Midland, and Casa de Amigos. He currently is a member and President of the Midland Independent School District Board of Trustees.
