The tax law practice of Cotton Bledsoe Tighe & Dawson, P.C., provides advice, counseling and legal representation in a wide range of tax-related matters to both individuals and businesses of all sizes. Our tax law practice is led by attorney John A. Woodside, who is board certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Woodside, who has practiced tax law for more than 35 years, is also a former chair of the tax law division of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
From our offices in Midland, Texas, we provide tax law counsel for the firm's clients in all aspects of income tax, including oil and gas tax, partnership taxation, corporate tax and all other areas of tax law — except estate and gift tax matters, which are handled by our firm's estate planning section.

Cotton Bledsoe has an active and growing practice managing taxation issues on behalf of nonprofit organizations, including private foundations and charities, churches, foundations and hospitals. We are available to guide nonprofit organizations through the process of forming a nonprofit organization under local laws such that it qualifies for tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code and Texas state tax laws.
